“Good Family Vacation”

We stayed at Beaches Negril from July 13-20 with our children ( ages 8 and 10). Like most travelers, I will a little nervous after reading the reviews. Forunately, although our trip was not without any difficulties, it was overall a very fun family experience.

When we arrived at the hotel, it was raining, which made me really upset. ( Not Beaches Fault!) After travelling so long, you just want to see sunshine in Jamaica! Our room was not ready upon arrival, but the manager was very nice and made accomodations.

The room is a typical, beach hotel room. You are not at the Ritz, but it is certainly acceptable. The housekeeping staff did a nice job at cleaning the room and fulfilling extra towel requests, etc...

Service....We had exceptional service at most places. The only thing we noticed was in the Main Pool, it took a very long time to get a drink. Other than that, we had exceptional service at the Spa ( from Debbie, Mickayla, and all the spa assistants were very nice and helpful.) Ronnette in the Kikomos is so sweet, and the best Chef to request is Marlon!!! He is the BEST!!! My kids did not like the Kids Club, however, they found happiness at the XBOX and being entertained with the staff. Thank you to Garrett at the pool games, Josie for the Fashion show and sweetness, and Roxanne for being so outgoing with my kids. My son also really enjoyed the Scratch class Thanks DJ Klutch), where he learned to be a DJ. And a special thank you to Georgette, our Conceirge, who always had a smile and would go out of her way to make our stay perfect.

Food....you don't go there for the food. The choices are limited and get old quickly. The best restaurant was the Seville and Kimonos. We tried to eat most of our dinners there. The servers were always very helpful and pleasent at all the restaurants, however.

Pools and beach....The pools were fun for the kids and for us, just lounging on the rafts with drinks...The beach was beautiful, with soft sand and clear water. Very inviting. Both kids did have ear infections at the end of the trip, but the doctor/nurse on staff were very nice. Those fees are not included! ha

Shows....most of the shows were good. The audience participation is what makes it interesting and fun.

Overall, it was a great trip. It is what your family makes of it. If you are looking for a fancy hotel, this is not it. If you are looking for a fun time with your family, where there is plenty to do, beautiful beach, fun pools, friendly staff, nice people to meet...you will have a great time!
